Our eight-person team is based in the Bay Area, but five of our employees work from home offices around the US.
Jason serves in a creative role, creating homepage designs and collaborating with our creative director on design work in general; he also oversees the care and feeding of LiveWhale, our CMS. A pathological multitasker, Jason is typically involved in every aspect of the website development process. He serves as the primary point of contact for most of White Whale’s clients.
Tonya MoyleVice President
In addition to managing White Whale’s business affairs, Tonya serves as lead information architect and content strategist: refining site navigation, offering strategic content recommendations, editing final copy for consistency, leading web content workshops, and working closely with client staff throughout the site development process.
Janie PorcheCreative Director
Janie is an experienced and accomplished higher ed web designer. Simply put, she makes web pages: a process that might include interviewing students while they eat lunch, proposing color palettes via videochat, or cross-browser compatibility testing. She works primarily in Photoshop and CSS; her work has won several national awards.
Alex RomanovichTechnical Director
As technical director of White Whale, Alex has an intimate understanding of higher ed needs, and has produced numerous tools to effectively manage content for universities across the United States. He is the lead back end architect of the LiveWhale CMS.
Jason SchuppLead Developer
Jason is a talented and experienced web developer, specializing in responsive front-end development for desktop and mobile. He leads the buildout and implementation process for many of our clients.
Laura McCordDirector of Product Support
Laura manages support for the LiveWhale CMS and LiveWhale Calendar. She has 10 years experience in higher education, including as Senior Java Developer for the University of California, Merced and as a senior level programmer for Southwestern University for over 7 years, where she received a CASE Grand Award.
Isaac McGowanLead Developer, LiveWhale CMS
Isaac writes front end code for the LiveWhale CMS. He has developed and managed Web applications since 1999, working on corporate teams as well as individually, and has created a wide variety of interesting and engaging tools and interfaces. His primary interest is AJAX-based Web applications, with focus on UI development and jQuery programming.
Naomi is a developer originally from England, currently living in Oakland, with a passion for UX design. Naomi enjoys collaborating closely with designers and strives to write efficient and maintainable code. At White Whale she leads the buildout of LiveWhale-powered sites, and works to move LiveWhale’s feature set forward.
